to take the place of someone or something; to put something new in the place of something old or broken
「リ、プレース」→リプレイする場所を変える、つまり交換する。
例文
We need to replace the old printer with a new one.
私たちは古いプリンターを新しいものと交換する必要がある。
「AをBと交換する」はreplace A with B、「AがBの後任になる」はreplace A as B。
