「通訳する」と「解釈する」の2つの意味を文脈で使い分ける必要があります。TOEICでは後者の「(データや状況を)解釈する」の意味で使われることが多いです。`interpret the results`, `interpret the data`, `interpret the findings`などのコロケーションで覚えましょう。
リスニングのポイント
interpretとinterruptの聞き分けに注意。/tə́ːr/ と /tərʌ́pt/ の音の違いを意識しましょう。後者は破裂音 /p/ が入るのが特徴です。
